Robert Fechtman is a life-long resident of Indiana. He graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in music and a major in economics, and he received his JD from Rutgers School of Law. He also attended the University of San Diego’s Institute on International and Comparative Law at Magdalen College, Oxford University. In 6th and 7th grade, Mr. Fechtman went away to school to sing with the American Boychoir in Princeton, New Jersey.
Mr. Fechtman focuses his practice on the problems of older and disabled persons, particularly special needs trusts, estate planning and trusts, health law, Medicaid planning, guardianships and decedents’ estates. He is a frequent writer and speaker on a variety of estate planning, special needs and elder law topics. He has been certified as an elder law attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation.
He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and he is a Past President of the Indiana Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He is the current President of the Special Needs Alliance, which is a national, non-profit, invitation-only network of lawyers dedicated to disability and public benefits law. He is also a member of the Elder Law Section and the Probate, Real Property and Trusts Section of the Indiana State Bar Association, and he is a past Chair of the Estate Planning and Administration Section of the Indianapolis Bar Association. Mr. Fechtman is a sustaining member of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association. He is currently serving on the Boards of Directors of the Special Needs Alliance, of the National Elder Law Foundation, which is the accrediting organization for elder law attorneys, of the Indianapolis Bar Association Estate Planning and Administration Section Executive Council, and of The Indianapolis Children’s Choir.
Admitted to the bar, 1982, Indiana; also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals, 7th Circuit and 6th Circuit, U.S. District Court, Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. Ms. Greene has represented injured people for 30 years. Ms. Greene has been partners with Fred Schultz in the law firm of Greene & Schultz Trial Lawyers, in Bloomington, Indiana, since 2005. Ms. Greene has personally tried over 100 jury trials in her career.
Ms. Greene is a past president of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association (2006-2007) and has served as president of many other legal organizations, including the Indiana chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates and the Monroe County Bar Association. She currently serves on the Board of Governors and is Chair of the Public Education committee for the American Association for Justice. Ms. Greene was appointed by the Monroe County Board of Judges to the Monroe County Public Defender Board in 2010 and has served in that capacity since. In early 2017, Ms. Greene was named to the Maurer School of Law Board of Visitors at Indiana University.
Ms. Greene received her first certificate in Civil Trial Advocacy from the National Board of Trial Advocacy in 1995 and has been certified every 5 years since. She is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Ms. Greene has been named a “Super Lawyer” every year the ratings have by been published (and has five times been named as one of Indiana’s top 50 lawyers by the Super Lawyer magazine.). In April, 2015, Ms. Greene was named a “Distinguished Barrister” by the Indiana Lawyer newspaper. In 2017 and 2018, Ms. Greene was listed as one of Indiana’s “Top Ten” lawyers by the Super Lawyer magazine. In 2019, Ms. Greene was named the #1 Top Ten lawyer in Indiana. In July, 2019, Ms. Greene was presented with the Howard Twiggs’ Commitment to Justice Award by the American Association of Justice.
In 2005, Ms. Greene graduated from Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College 3 week program. Ms. Greene was President of the alumni board and served on the Board of Directors of the Trial Lawyers College, 2009 to 2011. In 2009, Ms. Greene joined the faculty of the Trial Lawyers College and continues to serve as a faculty member. Ms. Greene taught Trial Advocacy at the Indiana University School of Law for the spring, 2008 semester. In addition to teaching for TLC, she is a frequent speaker at American Association for Justice, the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, and the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum seminars.
Tom Manges was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He graduated from South Side High School, Hanover College (1989), and Indiana University (Robert H. McKinney) School of Law (1992). He joined Roby & Hood Law Firm, and in 2005, became a named partner resulting in Roby Hood & Manges. This firm, now known as“Manges Law Firm”, only represents people injured or killed through the fault of others. This includes people harmed by vehicles, falls, defective products, in hospitals, in nursing homes, by doctors, by animals, and at construction sites, among others.
Tom is admitted to practice before the Indiana Supreme Court and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, as well as the Seventh Circuit United States Court of Appeals. Tom is a member of the Benjamin Harrison American Inn of Court (President 2018-19), Allen County Bar Association (ACBA), the Indiana State Bar Association, the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA), and the American Association for Justice (AAJ). Tom has served on the Board of Directors for the ITLA since 1994. Tom has been named an Indiana “Super Lawyer” since 2009.
Tom has written for and spoken at many continuing legal education events.
