Abstract: An in depth, hand on dive into the practical applications of AI for lawyers. Building on the
theory and foundation of earlier presentations, the presentation will hone in on adding value to your
practice and saving time with AI technology.
Topics will Include:
• Using AI to answer simple legal research questions
• Robust AI legal research
• Creating transcript and deposition summaries
• Applying Chat GPT to gain deeper insights into scientific, medical, and technical issues
• Preparing deposition questions and interrogatories with Chat GPT
• Drafting letters with ChatGPT
• Utilizing Chat GPT to lawyers by generating detailed bullet points to expand on case topics,
making it easier to dive deep into complex issues.
• Researching hard to answer factual questions with Chat GPT
• Changing the prose style or tone of your writing with AI
• Analyzing medical records with AI and formulating precise questions based on medical
information.
• Enhancing demand letters or persuasive writing with AI
• Saving time explaining complicated legal concepts in emails and letters
• Combining audio dictation with AI to streamline workflow
• Saving time taking notes by recording meetings, creating AI transcripts, and summarizing
transcripts
• Creating accurate, word for word AI transcriptions of interviews
Matt Schad is an Martindale-Hubbell AV-rated plaintiff’s trial attorney handling serious injury and death cases, including products liability, construction site accidents, highway design, motor vehicle collisions, and premises liability. He is the owner of Schad Law in New Albany, Indiana.
Matt grew up in Floyd County, Indiana. After graduating from Floyd Central High School he majored in Ancient Greek at Indiana University, where he earned high honors. He went on to attend the Florida State College of Law and graduated cum laude in 1994.
After law school Matt joined the United States Army and served in the Judge Advocate General's Corps overseas in the Republic of Panama. After promotion to captain he became the chief Army military prosecutor for U.S. Army South. At the conclusion of his military career Matt returned home and joined his father Larry at Schad & Schad, the family law firm in New Albany.
Matt has tried over 50 civil jury trials in Indiana and Kentucky and has multiple seven and eight figure verdicts.
Matt has lived in Indiana, Kentucky, Florida, Virginia, Colorado, Central America, and Germany. In his spare time he enjoys playing guitar in various bands, fishing, and hiking. Each summer he takes a month long sabbatical to camp and explore the American West.
