Patrick Malone learned how to ask questions and get answers as an award-winning investigative journalist. Now he is a leading attorney working on behalf of seriously injured people in lawsuits against hospitals, doctors, drug companies, government agencies, and other defendants. Over the last three decades, he has won a long string of exceptional results for his clients. Malone is the author of Winning Medical Malpractice Cases with the Rules of the Road Technique and The Fearless Cross-Examiner, and he coauthored the bestselling advocacy book: Rules of the Road: A Plaintiff Lawyer’s Guide to Proving Liability with Rick Friedman. He wrote a book for consumers, The Life You Save: Nine Steps to Finding the Best Medical Care—and Avoiding the Worst.

Patrick Malone is a graduate of Yale Law School, a member of the Inner Circle of Advocates, and a fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. Malone is a member of the board of trustees of the Pound Civil Justice Institute. Malone has been recognized as a leader in the law by Lawdragon’s “500 Leading Lawyers in America,” Super Lawyers, and The Best Lawyers in America.

Patrick Malone grew up in Wichita, Kansas, and is the oldest of seven children in an Irish Catholic family. Malone and his staff work out of offices in Washington, DC a few blocks north of the White House; they represent clients throughout Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

Lance D. Cline has dedicated his legal career to representing victims of medical negligence, consumer product defects, and motor vehicle collisions. His 38+ years of legal experience have made him a knowledgeable litigator representing injured people and their loved ones against health care providers, motor vehicle operators, large corporations, and other formidable opponents. He is a fearless advocate for his clients.

Mr. Cline's dedication to his clients and level of skill at trial advocacy have earned him membership in the prestigious Inner Circle of Advocates, a national organization limited to 100 plaintiff attorneys in the United States who undergo a rigorous selection process. He is one of only two Indiana attorneys ever elected to that organization. He is also a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers, an organization comprised of only one percent of trial attorneys nationwide. He was named Indianapolis Medical Malpractice Lawyer of the Year in 2011, 2013, and 2014 and Indianapolis Personal Injury Attorney of the Year in 2018 by Best Lawyers in America, a Top 10 Attorney in Indiana for the years 2018 and 2019 by Super Lawyers, and Co-Trial Lawyer of the Year for 2018 by the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association. He has been selected as a member of Best Lawyers in America every year since 1997.

Jerry Garau is originally from Martinsville, Indiana.  He graduated summa cum laude from Franklin College in 1983. In 1986, he received his law degree, cum laude, from the Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis, where he was articles editor for the Indiana Law Review and a member of the Order of Barristers.
Following law school, Mr. Garau clerked for the Hon. Patrick D. Sullivan of the Indiana Court of Appeals.  After his clerkship, Mr. Garau entered private practice with the Indianapolis law firm of Price & DeLaney.

In 1997, Mr. Garau and four other attorneys opened a firm in Indianapolis focused on representing victims of medical malpractice. That firm, now known as Garau Germano, P.C., pursues cases on behalf of injured patients throughout Indiana.

Over his career, Mr. Garau has tried more than 40 cases to verdict. He has also presented numerous arguments to the Indiana Court of Appeals, the Indiana Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Mr. Garau is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association; the College of Fellows of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association; and is a past recipient of the Indiana Bar Association’s Civility Award, which recognizes an attorney for outstanding civility and professionalism in dealings with judges, attorneys, parties, witnesses and the public.
